A "Deadly" Theme Week

The number seven holds great significance. There are seven wonders of the ancient world, in Christianity,  seven is the number of completion or perfection. In Judaism, Pentecost, (The Feast of Weeks) is seven times seven days after Passover. There are seven chakras in Hinduism, seven levels of heaven in Islam, seven virtues, and finally, seven days of the week.

But this week is going to feature one of the most notorious of the sevens; The Seven Deadly Sins.

Balance is what you find between "too much" and "not enough".
It is central to living a productive and fulfilled life. People often say "You can never have too much of a good thing."
Well, in some cases, not only is too much of a good thing bad, it's deadly.

What makes the seven deadly sins so harmful is the fact that they represent the absence of balance, and restraint. They take normal human tendencies and pervert them to extreme and dangerous levels.

Wanting to have things (Ex: money) is fine, but when it becomes excessive it's called Greed.

Admiring what your neighbour has is normal, but when you bitterly covet what they have it's called Envy.

Most romantic relationships wouldn't last without desire, but when that desire becomes insatiable it becomes Lust.

Enjoying great food is one of the best things about being alive (imo), but when you've had your fill and you till aren't satisfied, you cross the line into Gluttony.

Having good self-esteem is very important to our personal development, but when you think more highly of yourself than you should (and less of others), you fall victim to the sin of Pride.
It's okay to be upset. Normal even, but when "upset" turns to uncontrollable rage, Anger is at play.
Everyone needs rest. Prolonged, deliberate inaction equals Sloth.

In case you haven't guessed, this year's theme week will feature the Seven Deadly Sins...in nail polish form. From the moment I knew this was the latest BB Couture collection, I wanted to do this series. In fact, I was mentally writing the posts--way before I purchased the collection!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a wordy girl and I love stuff like this.
 I hope you will too.
Weather and time permitting, The first post will launch on Nov 1st.

Happy Friday!
Ginger-who is more than a little excited about this :)
