Essie Over The Edge

2 coats,lightbox
I bought this during my 'grey' phase a few months back. Steel-grey has always been one of my favourite nail polish colours, so Over The Edge was an obvious choice.

A metallic, steel-grey that applies perfectly? Yes Please!

I don't own a lot of Essie nail polish, but I do think it's one of the better salon-turned-drugstore brands out there. It's also more affordable than the others, (Essie costs $10 CDN and OPI costs $12--pretty good)
What do you think?

Ginger-Yesterday I was marveling at how lovely this winter has been. Tomorrow we're getting a snowstorm. (I think I jinxed it by speaking too soon : /)

Pink Wednesday:Essie Splash of Grenadine

Greetings from the summer of 2010! This beauty is part of Essie's Resort Collection. I passed on the most popular shades, Lapis of Luxury and Turquoise and Caicos, but purchased this and Playa Del Platinum almost immediately.

Splash of Grenadine is what I like to call an "in-between" colour. It's both purple...and pink. Essie's website calls it magenta, so I guess I agree. It's beautiful, whatever it is, and the formula is perfect too.
This Wednesday's offering is a winner :)

I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Ginger-In just two weeks I've gotten 9 paper cuts! Winter needs to be over now.

Nicole by OPI Kourt Is Red-y For A Pedi

As a rule, I try to avoid all things Kardashian. My bestie was obsessed with Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and I really tried to enjoy the show, but after watching a few episodes with her I decided that this was one family I did not want to 'keep up' with. They all seem like nice people, but I just can't watch it.
When I found out Nicole by OPI was releasing a Kardashian-themed line my first thought was, "Not them again!" then again, I do remember admiring the beautifully manicured nails of all the girls, so this was a better fit for the brand than Justin Bieber.
I can't even hate.

The colour that jumped out at me immediately was Kourt Is Red-y For a Pedi, a screamingly bright vermillion red creme. I adore this colour! It is one of my favourite go-to reds. I don't know much about the namesake, other than she's the oldest and appears to be kind of aloof and unemotional.
 I like her.

I've been trying to hold off on posting my manis. Winter has not been kind to my hands, and I hate showing them when they're this dry and yucky-looking. Oh well, I'll put my dry cuticles on blast before anyone else will : P

Happy Monday!
Ginger-I will, however, watch any show featuring wives, toddlers in tiaras, and brides. I'm different.

List Of The Week: Whitney Houston

Yet another legend, gone before her time. This list is devoted to my all-time favourite female vocalist. Rest in Peace, Whitney
Have a great Saturday,
Ginger-who spend the entire afternoon watching Whitney's funeral. What a touching tribute to her life.

OPI Stranger Tides

Oooh! I love me some Pirates of the Caribbean! Mostly because I love me some Johnny Depp. I haven't seen the film this polish is named for, but the series is one of my most beloved guilty pleasures.  In the interest of full-disclosure, I have to admit that I wasn't 'wowed' by this collection.  They were all pastels and I wasn't in the mood for pastels. The colours are lovely, I just think more could have been done with such a great theme.
3 coats indoors under lamp
Anywhoo, Stranger Tides was one of my favourite shades. It's a dusty celadon green creme, definitely not a typical pastel which is what attracted me to it.

I have a love/like relationship with OPI. Sometimes I love every single colour in a collection, and other times...meh. Stranger Tides is one of the few from this collection that I actually bought.
Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

Happy Thursday!
Ginger-who spent Valentine's Day with her niece. She is fabulous.
